Next, the place should be well lit uniformly both at day and night, with light source. There should not be any bright light coming from the background of the computer or any glare from the monitor’s screen formed due to reflection of the light source behind the person. The place should be a well ventilated one with amble space to walk about freely.
The computer monitor screen must be adjusted to have the optimum level of Contrast and Brightness suitable to the illumination inside the room.
Then while doing the computer work, the person must not go on and on reading or referring to the screen – key board must be used (typing work). At regular intervals, say every forty minutes, the person should take the eyes off from the computer and look at a distance, close the eyes and take a few deep breaths of air, or get up and walk a few paces around and have chat with colleagues, and then resume the work. After the work is over and turning off the computer, the person can do eye exercises in fresh air to free the eyes from locking and then wash the face with cool water; go to bed earlier, not so late on that day of long hours of computer work, to have a good and healthy vision the next day!
