Scheduling Blogger Posts - Tips

If bloggers feel that they will not be able to post their article in Blogger blog at the suitable, correct or routine time, they can schedule that post to be published in the intended time. They can read about this in Blogger Buzz . In scheduling my post I found out these snags in it:

1. Bloggers will not be able to schedule a post at anytime within a date’s time itself. If they do there will be a display that it is in a wrong time format!

2. After scheduled publishing a blogger cannot choose and get that post from the Archive of the blog! For that he/she shall have to go to the Post Editor
   and publish it again.

   
   

Yahoo! Messenger - Free SMS!

You can send SMS free of charge to your friend’s mobile phone from anywhere in the world through your computer having Yahoo! Messenger – latest version. [Or you can send this SMS to your friend living in your country itself]. For that your friend’s country should be in the Yahoo! Messenger’s authorized countries list (15 countries). You can also check for making sure the presence of your friend’s mobile phone operator’s name in that list.
Click the Text button in Messenger page of Yahoo! Messenger. In the Text Message page enter your friend’s mobile phone number. Then enter your message in the text box below and click Send button. That’s all. Your friend will have now received an alert message from Yahoo! Messenger about the message to be delivered, followed by your message itself as an SMS on his/her phone! [But note that your friend shall have to part with an SMS’ cost [  in India ] if he/she replies back in response to your message!).

Alexa Ranker Review!

Alexa traffic ranking widgets are seen in many blogs and even in blog directories. It is said that to get the notice of Alexa and boost up the site ranking, a blogger can put up Alexa widgets and Alexa tool bar in the blog.

It has been given by the Alexa website itself that its site ranking for a blog is based upon the visits and page reviews by the Alexa users in a day! Alexa traffic ranking is also based on the usage patterns of Alexa tool bar users!

In the Alexa home page you can also compare websites’ traffic by entering their URLs in the Website Traffic Comparisons and clicking on Compare Sites button. Or you can proceed to get the detailed Alexa information for any blog /website by simply typing its URL in the text box of Site Info and clicking on the Go button: in a second you are provided with all the information about it!

Error Correction in Google Docs !

It takes about three hours for me to prepare, edit, text, re-edit, format, upload to Google Docs, re- format and then publish a Blogger blog post. But my previous post took half an hour more than the usual time! There was a publishing problem in the Google Docs: while it published the post on the Web as a routine, it refused to publish in (this) blog! I was perplexed much after such repeated attempts to publish. At this time, on casual observation ‘a correction that was not done’ was pointed out by my son! Recently I had changed the password for the Google account. The error pointed out was this: I had logged in with the new password; but I had not replaced the old password inside the Settings tab of the Google Docs with the new one! Any Google account holder can check this by clicking on the Documents tab present on the top of their Google page (Gmail or Photos) as follows:

To see their encrypted password they shall have to click on the Settings tab in Google Docs  General  Blogger: edit info... under Blog settings Blog Site Settings under Existing Blog Settings!
