An email lures you into its trap!

I received an email recently that lured with many benefits of the 'Signature credit card' and also declared that the credit card gets instant approval on applying online for it! I can get those benefits simply clicking on the 'Apply Online' given in that mail! Is it so simple to receive the credit card, or is it a hacking for knowing particulars through such trap, I wonder!

On browsing with the URL, (www.hoolygoolyapp.com) that the email seemed to originate, it was found leading to a website of an online fashion store only!

All other features of that email resembled to that of the credit card's bank! Moreover, I am getting yet such more emails from that same email id but with different wordings in their title, subject and contents!

Deception in phone revealed on computer!

I found an interesting message in the Whatsapp App of my mobile phone. It informed that one can video-call for free by tapping on a 'Whatsapp' web-link given down in the message. But that link directed to a website. I closed that website page as I had been already warned of such websites. Then in a few minutes I received a call from a friend in Dubai who by this calling checked video-calling using that web-link! But there was no video display of my friend on my phone. I warned the disgusted friend about such websites, and to desist from using them. Then I entered the URL (web address) found in that Whatsapp message in my computer browser. Only a warning was displayed as 'Reported Web Forgery!' On the computer, that fake website was blocked! Whether it is a faking or a hacking or a spying or a mocking website or not, it has some motive behind it to deceive us. So, beware of such websites and their directing web-links in the Whatsapp messages of phones. Delete the messages containing them.

Choice: Password Generator Or its Inventer!

According to 'Norton Cybercrime Report 2012', about 80 Internet users in India are subjected to cybercrime every minute. All global cybercrimes are said to be due to not changing passwords frequently and not using strong complex passswords.

It is advised to change passwords twice a week. But website users find it difficult to create such complex and strong passwords each time; even if they create, they tend to forget them. Experts suggest two options to solve this problem. One of it is to send all the using passwords to one's own email inbox - for retrieving them later, if they forget them. The other one is that seeking the help of password generators such as Online Password Generator and Password Generator. There are drawbacks in these options too! In the first one, the Internet user has to use a strong password for his email account and memorize it; if he forgets it or it is also hacked every using website shall be lost. In the second, the generated passwords are produced after all only online; they can be even monitored and used by hackers in hacking the websites' accounts. So, what is the method still remaining as reliable and foolproof? Nothing! It may be your own new method that you are going to invent and use - like generating passwords in your own method and remembering those passwords in your own method! Share your methods with us :)

Hacking mail account for Marketing!

Hacking email account is also done for purposes other than knowing the mail contents. Here is an example: it has been used for marketing electronic products! Yes, one person has hacked the password of my relatives email account. He/she has not only accessed the account's contents but also operated it and sent emails to all the Contacts in the Address Book (- including me!), as if he/she was my relative! But the contents of the mail endorsed an electronic product that he/she recently bought(!) at a cheaper rate! Here find one of those mail's contents:

I found out the hacking of the account when I contacted and inquired my relative by phone regarding the above mail's contents whether he bought the electronic item, and also about his sending such a mail. Spelling mistakes also pointed to the hacking. I reported about it to my relative and he immediately changed the password to a stronger one and protected his account.
