When we find a method, we use it, adapt to it and go on using it. But there are many other easier methods that have been developed recently. For example, take attachment of files in Gmail. It has now features that you may not know. Find them here:
1) You can drag files from Desktop to 'Compose Mail' page to upload!
2) You can select multiple files by multi-selecting them (holding Ctrl key and clicking on each file) to attach!
3) Gmail warns you if you have forgotten to attach a file with your mail.
4) You can view files (sent/received) directly by Google Docs Viewer. So, to view the files you need not download and save them to Desktop anymore.
5) You can search for a forgotten attachment in 'Gmail's advanced search operators' (click 'Show search options' found near search boxes) and find it out easily and quickly.
