Announcement for alerting and for upgrading!

It is really great to announce in advance about the declining speed of Internet; it is also more great to request the customer for either retaining the slowed down speed or for upgrading it to sustain the prior good speed of the Internet! View here the announcement box of the Internet service provider, BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited)!

While I was browsing the Internet, suddenly this web page of BSNL appeared blocking my browsing! To warn or alert the customer it is being done. But I wonder how far this can help customers who doesn't read or ignore or don't know even the English language at all!

Tips for uninterrupted Net Browsing!

While browsing the Internet if there appears an announcement like 'Server not found' or 'Connection timed out' don't be discouraged about it. Do the following and resume your browsing:
1) First check your Internet connection whether it is connected or not. And restore it if it is not connected.
2) Refresh the web page by clicking on the blue arrow (Mozilla Firefox) or the double arrows (Internet Explorer) found on the menu bar or by hitting on F5 key of the keyboard.
3) Check the spelling of the URL typed in the address bar for any mistakes and correct it and hit the Enter key.
4) To avoid any such spelling mistakes and get the desired website quickly, click on the web links that are found to contain the URL embedded in it. Or you can use the Bookmarks (Mozilla Firefox) or Favorites (Internet Explorer) for this.

Modern gadgets: iPhone, iPod, iPad ...!

The present fashion with the world is to listen or talk always with modern gadgets that are being released in the market one after the other. Yet others are not satisfied with this: they want also other facilities incorporated into the gadgets in addition. Result of this is the development of a separate market for each of such gadgets. Thus we miss to know about the features of these varied gadgets themselves before buying them.
Smart Phone: It is the regular mobile phone that has also the Personal Computer functions added. But unlike regular phones, it uses advanced applications like eBook Reader, Wi-Fi, etc.

iPhone: It is a Smart Phone as said above with the web browsing and Portable Media Player facilities. It provides touch screen as user interface. It is also compatible with third party applications like GPS, Games, etc.

iPod: In listening music iPods, the portable media players have created a craze among people, as the storage of music numbers are in thousands! A tiny gadget having such an unbelievable enormous storage capacity! Many types of iPods are offered like Classic (hand driven), Touch (touch screen), Nano (video) and Shuffle (compact). They have pushed out all those cassette and disc players out of market into the past.

iPad: It is a Tablet Personal Computer that has been made for web browsing, gaming, media playing, etc. It has been brought out as a device between a Smart Phone and a LapTop. It is of a size of a letter paper with half an inch thickness. It has a flash memory of 64 GBs. It can run applications in thousands. iTunes, iBook, and iWork are the few examples.

Browsing affects Mind and Body!

"In doing daily activities our body works a lot, and then takes rest during sleep. We use our mind to think and then act. Usually we think only for a few seconds at a time, but act for a longer time putting our body to work more than the mind. But we should not put our body to work sparingly, and go on thinking for a long time: it is against our human nature. Even if you do so at any time, you must let your mind to stop its thinking, relax and take rest - by sleeping. Otherwise the mind itself may stop its working! So, do not load unnecessarily your mind. Divert yourself in other activities and take rest or sleep to relax both the mind and body to make them to be healthy at all times." - from the blog, Kindling Thoughts.
Does this content has any relevance here in this blog? Yes it does have: in Web browsing and Computer work we mostly use our mind to think, and use our body sparingly! Sparingly used body may make it susceptible for Diabetes mellitus, and a heavily taxed mind may also be a factor to cause Hypertension - in the long run! Be aware of this. Be active bodily and take rest often as said above to avoid these and stay healthy!

Kids! Search,click and explore here!

Children have much access to internet browsing with the expanding band of net surfing. They often meet with a heavy load of information in the websites, that they least expected, did not require or did not want at all
. For the safe search, simple and clear knowledge, there are the following Search engines and Websites for them:

Yahoo KIDS
Apart from special search engine, there are Games, Videos, Jokes & Sports! (As you click on a Tab you go on hearing a 'bobbing' sound on all the Tabs!)

ASK Kids
This site has Movies for kids, Games etc. plus the search engine.

KidsClick
Just click through the alphabet letters to search over 600 subjects; and you can get also the required information by clicking on tags under various categories!

LITTLE EXPLORERS
Here Picture Dictionary and Learning Pages are there. And many things wait to be clicked on. But to access all these, one has to subscribe.

Introduce all these sites to the kids before they become adults and/or before they gain access to the full blown general adult websites.

Remote file transfer by TeamViewer!

The other day I was browsing the internet with my computer
. At that time my son called me from his city over phone and asked me to open and enter into a website, and then to open My Computer of the computer. I did so. But now I found the Mouse Pointer to move over the files by itself! I was shocked by this with fear overwhelming. I called back my son and reported about it. My son laughed at it and replied that he only had done it by using the same website that I entered in! Then he got a copy of the file that he required, transferred from my computer to his computer! Yes, it is the TeamViewer website that helped him to do this. Over internet, with its help one can access remotely files of any computer present anywhere in the world within seconds. You can also remote control your friend's computer as if you are sitting right in front of it. And you can also share files with your friends - sending and receiving! Do you want to try now itself entering into this website? Click on here --> TeamViewer.

Frozen keys in browsing through blogs

As you browse the internet you come across some puzzling things. Out of them I recently met with one: I was viewing a blog chosen from the directory of Entrecard ( a viewer traffic enhancing website). As usual I clicked on the 'Drop' of the Entrecard Blog advertising widget ('Blog of the day') as a token of my visit to that blog. After that I could not view further that blog as I did before that click! The Space bar or (Shift + Space bar), Home key, End key and the Arrow keys lay frozen to my operational movements and so, I could not use them to move the web page up or down! I could use only the Mouse pointer to move the page up or down by holding the Scrollbar.

Similar thing happens after leaving a comment in a blog. Could anyone explain why does this happen? You can share here your own experience about it.

Puzzled Signing-in in Mozilla!

I was signing in a website: I clicked on the Sign in button; but I could not enter the web page. The
home page of the website kept on returning back as I repeated on and on this signing in business! I was shocked and wondered whether someone has hacked. I went on to check and confirm it in an another website; but that too returned the signing-in page - but with a note to check the browser's settings in the computer:
Your browser's cookie functionality is turned off. Please turn it on.

Yes, it is the
Gmail that helped me to solve this perplexing problem: I had disabled by mistake the Accept cookies from sites check box instead of the Accept third-party cookies in Privacy tab of Option (Tools menu of Mozilla Firefox)! I felt greatly relieved then. You can go through this as a mock exercise and find out how Google helps you in it with its Account Help page.

Selective Deletion of Browsing History!

After you have finished the web surfing with Mozilla Firefox, you can delete all the browsed websites’ URLs by clicking the Clear Private Data option of Tools menu. But can you delete the browsed URLs for a particular period selectively? Yes, you can! Click on History tab --> Show All History --> Library. Scroll down or up in the window of the Library that shows all the browsed details line by line. Select the first URL shown (actually it is the lastly browsed websites’ URL in the selected portion for deletion). Simply hit down continuously at the Delete key of the keyboard one after the other till the last URL to be deleted; then close the window. Now the selective deletion work is done!

Cookies for Commenting in Blogs!

When I visited a blog I encountered the following snags in using the Comments form to share with my opinion about its post: the word for filling in Word Verification text box (CAPTCHA)did not appear for typing in; and also I could not have my Mail account signing in form in it! Later I found out the problem maker and got over the snags. Through Tools button, Options (Mozilla Firefox) I had blocked (accepting) the Third party cookies in Privacy button! After I unchecked the concerned radio button I was able to use the Comments form.

Touring the World on Verve Earth! - 2

I am continuing here my account of touring the world on Verve Earth satellite!

I find many blogs are not updated frequently. One such blogger says in his post that he has moved to Wordpress but will keep on visiting the Blogger blog then and there!

In a blog from Russia I found a post that mentioned about disposable mobile phone! A Chinese blog from Shanghai exhibited beautiful photos and photos only – a bamboo tree, swans and others!

An Australian blog post showed a photo of a VIP vomiting on the road from his car. A Malaysian fun blog quotes Einstein’s third law to catch a lion: first present yourself to the lion ……..! Then the lion will come to you – to be caught!

It was really a wonderful tour to view all these wonder blogs of the world!

Touring the World on Verve Earth! - 1

Touring the world as if sitting on a satellite and having a look at the blogs of Bloggers present all over the world will be both awful and interesting, isn’t it? I was in a similar situation when I combed through all the world’s continents for the blogs of Bloggers in Verve Earth website! I share here that wonderful experience with you!

In my tour there were regions like that of South America where I cannot read the blogs at all, as they were in local language script. But I could see a blog there that has cartoons and cartoons only!

One blogger near India in Maldives offers help to women of her country to redress their worries through law!

In North America bloggers have their blogs on wide variety of topics. Many of the bloggers I found on the tour are Software Engineers or Technologists working in other nations far away from their native nation. Some of them have even formed their National Community Blogs!

I shall not stop with this and you shall have to wait only just a few days: I shall continue this in my next post until then you can have your own experience on the satellite, Verve Earth!

Antispyware's Blocking Drama

Antispywares and Antivirus softwares are said to slow down the computer performance and web browsing. But they also block the browsing totally sometimes: whenever I typed an URL in the address box the Antispyware software installed in the computer informed through a dialogue box with buttons of ALLOW and BLOCK, and a check box that gave option not to show that dialogue box again. If I clicked any of these buttons, everything was frozen leaving only the option of turning off of the computer! A total block in the web browsing was the result. Surprisingly there was a single solution to remove this block: ‘ticking in the check box’ – not to show the dialogue box once again! That’s all. The block was removed!

Online Storage for 'The Easier and Quicker Way to Browse the Web'

Computers were the sole storage sites for documents, images etc. But now online storage has come in as at sometimes the stored matter in the computer is lost due to the malfunctioning of the hardwares or softwares.

I have posted ‘The Easier and Quicker Way to Browse the Web’ (dated 25th April 2008 displayed down here in the older posts). I have written in it that websites could be stored in a Word document and used for easier web browsing. Now these websites are stored online in a storing website instead. One such prominent website is Ma.gnolia. In it the registered user collects together all the popular and desired websites in hundreds and tag them into many categories. The user apart from using these to browse the websites shares them also with groups of persons formed under him or her. It reminds me of my habit in similarity with this that I started in the year 2002: I used to write all the useful websites I come across on a piece of paper one after the other , each under a heading that describes its content (tags)! I have used thus such lists as ‘bookmarks’ earlier itself for browsing selectively!

The Necessity of this Blog, Web & Computer Users

Necessity for starting this blog rose out as I felt that with blogs of such type we could make pleasanter, and probably extend, our longevity – the years of existence! Yes, it could save our valuable time that we waste in correcting, deleting, redoing,, searching or doing everything on the Computer to get the job done. And that we waste in searching in the Web for websites and for information in the search engine results, and in finding out the required tab, link etc. on the web page, or that in referring to the Help Center content. I am sharing my experience here in this blog that could save all its readers’ time. So, I invite all to visit this blog frequently. I also suggest to all the readers to share their experiences with me by email. Or they can start their own such blogs – so that I could save my time also!
